Chimney Sweep in Duluth

After our annual chimney cleaning and camera inspection, our technician Levi noticed 2 anomalies in two separate chimney flue sections of our 36 year-0ld Mendota Hearth wood fireplace. Levi took still images of the flue separations so we could both evaluate the problem and come up with a maintenance plan. We decided on a complete chimney flue replacement that went absolutely as planned. From the drywall opening cut in a closet wall which was needed to access the top of the firebox to the chimney cap removal to the closet wall drywall replacement and clean-up, we could not have been more satisfied. We would highly recommend using Levi and his crew again, and look forward to his Fall cleaning and inspection.

Levi was just here cleaning an air exchanger duct running to the exterior of our house. There was a sizeable mess of an old bee hive clogging things up considerably. The ductwork on the inside at the air exchanger was quite convoluted and Levi definitely went the extra yard to make sure we got the right duct cleaned end to end. We are extremely pleased with his work and couldn't be happier!

A couple of hours ended up being hours well into the night and then today I just had a question about something unrelated and he stopped by took the time out of his busy schedule to make sure that I was OK and to answer my questions. Levi was great to work with! He did a thorough job explaining how our ducts would be cleaned and addressing all my questions and concerns. During the cleaning, he was very careful and considerate and took before and after pictures -- even after over a year's worth of construction projects that chucked all sorts of dust and debris into our vents, our ducts are literally sparkling now; the difference in photos was notable. There was no mess after Levi finished cleaning -- you couldn't even tell he'd been here. And, best of all, the air blowing through our vents is noticeably and significantly fresher. I no longer start immediately sneezeing and rubbing itchy eyes as soon as the air kicks in. The price was also very reasonable compared to the other companies I checked out. All around pleasant experience, really. I highly recommend Midtown for your ductwork cleaning needs!

We had a quote from Scott that at first I thought was a bit high. After some more researching, I called Scott and we talked about the fact that our basement level was heated by baseboard electric heaters, He was unaware of that fact, so he reduced the price and we agreed to go ahead with the cleaning. We hadn’t had the ducts cleaned in the last 20 years! Wow, no wonder I felt they were dirty.

Great company and well worth the cost of peace of mind! Scott arrived on time, was efficient, polite and knowledgeable. He inspected the chimney with a camera and explained everything thoroughly. Along with no messy debris for me to clean up, who could ask for more?

Scott and his assistant are excellent at their job. My home had very dirty air returns and duct work and they were able to get the system cleaned in about 4 hours for a small 2 bedroom home. They have excellent communication prior to day of work. The guys were a bit slow getting here on the morning of the scheduled day, but they worked hard once here. I gave 4/5 stars because I did have to chase them around a bit to put back all register covers, but the work was thorough. Their price was high, I thought, but the service I received was worth every penny. You get what you pay for and I got a house free of 50 years of dust and cat hair. Totally worth it. They use a 2-3 inch vacuum hose with a spinning bristle at the end to clean and knock loose dust lining the airways. They photograph before and after so you can see the difference, a nice touch.
Plaster chunks do not get removed with the regular hose as they are too heavy, but they do not cause dust problems, according to them. They include a furnace filter after cleaning, which must be replaced in a few days as it catches any loose chunks of dust missed by the vacuum. Thanks guys. I hope you enjoyed the cookies.
