What is a Discovery Day? In the franchise terminology, a Discovery Days is a time designed to allow a franchise candidate and franchisor to meet face-to-face. For the franchise candidate, it’s a chance to take a good look around the franchisor’s headquarters and to meet the people who will be supporting him if he joins the franchise system. For the franchisor, a Discovery Day is a chance to meet the potential franchisee and to show him what a great opportunity he’s being offered.

In order to calm all of your initial investment fears and answer your questions, we have created Discovery Day so you can find out firsthand if this business is for you. You will fly to Denver, Colorado and visit our home office. There, you will meet the staff that will be dedicated to supporting you in the field when you go home. You will sweep several chimneys and discover how you enjoy the field operations. You will spend time in the office, learning the software and seeing its unique capabilities. You will learn about us and the fee structure so that you can make a sound personal decision.

Our president and a whole Midtown team conduct the Discovery Days.

Discovery Days are held every month to meet demand. Our president, Byron Schramm, conducts the Discovery Day process along with a Discovery Day team. The team consists of Midtown Chimney Sweeps’s executive staff members and franchise owners. Each member of the team has expertise in a different area and will provide valuable information to participants about launching a small business franchise. There will be discussions on software usage and reporting, marketing, and the business-in-a-box and Mayor of the Town concepts. You will ride in a Midtown Chimney Sweeps van, sweep a few chimneys, go out to dinner, and much more in a busy two-day schedule!

The franchise training program is held at the Midtown Chimney Sweeps home office in Littleton, Colorado. The Discovery Day lasts two business days and incorporates the Midtown Chimney Sweeps Operations Manual and additional vendor materials. We look forward to hosting you soon!

We were very pleased with Midtown Chimney Sweeps. In particular, Ben was personable, professional, and ethical in his dealings with us. Moreover, we consider that the asking price for services was transparent and consistent. While we believed we might need a new firebox or refractory panels, Ben advised we had plenty of life left in the current set up. Despite our efforts to clean the window glass on the firebox doors, they did not shine until Ben arrived to do the job. Knowledgeable, ethical, reasonably price. We recommend and will definitely use Midtown again.

I'm incredibly impressed with Midtown Chimney Sweeps, specifically Ben, who was the tech who came out today. I bought a house in November and was recommended by my inspector to have a chimney cap placed. I had an appointment scheduled last week with Midtown, which had to be rescheduled last minute due to scheduling conflicts on their end, but Midtown communicated it quickly and efficiently.Ben came out and took a look at my (nonfunctioning) chimney today, and made recommendations based off what he was seeing. He provided a lot of education on my chimney, which was built in 1941, so things were built differently back then! Turns out, I was having a furnace issue. Ben also made recommendations on how to keep my aging chimney sealed and safe in the future. He was incredibly helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. I'll definitely be calling Midtown when I need sealing services in the future. Very professional and knowledgable!

He also assessed the ventilation pipe and our chimney and gave us detailed cleaning instructions. Since writing the review below I have been in contact with Alice from Midtown Chimney Sweeps. Alice took the time to review the scheduling log to find out how my appointment was rescheduled. She worked with me to arrange for their technician, Mike, to fit me into the schedule this week. Mike was extremely polite and very knowledgeable about how to care and to prolong the life of my wood burning fireplace. My chimney flue was pretty dirty. Mike took the time to put a second drop cloth down to ensure the soot stayed in the fire box. The no show on the original appointment was an inconvenience, and it did cause me to look for other chimney sweep options. I am glad I stuck with Midtown, though. They were the only chimney sweep company that was willing to offer me a cleaning quote over the phone. I have updated my score from a 0 to a 5. I would recommend them to anyone reading this review.If I could give 0 stars I would. I scheduled an appointment with this company for a Monday at 3:30. We received an email on Friday with all of the instructions on how to prepare for our visit. I left work early to get home at 3:00 to wait for the technician. At 4:00 I called and found out the owner of the company moved our appointment date out to Friday. We didn't receive a call or notification. What kind of company does that? If you choose Midtown Chimney Sweeps, I suggest calling frequently to make sure they haven't haphazardly changed your appointment time. Or, better yet, just choose a company you can actually count on.
